MILANO CLOWN FESTIVAL

Terms of Participation to the MILAN CLOWN FESTIVAL

 

1.  Everybody can apply the Festival's form: artists as well as acting companies from Italy and abroad Italy; in particular the Festival wants to give opportunities to play for who usually has troubles to find his/ her spot.
The Milano Clown Festival will take place on February 7, 8 and 9 2008 during the local Carnival week, in the "quartiere Isola", an area located in the city of Milan, close to the centre and with all the public transport facilities. Shows will be organize in the Theatre of the area and in the streets or in other places outside, according with the differents artist's needs.

2. Subscription and partecipation (for who will be selected as described at point 7) are completely free.

3.  The Milano Clown Festival is almost entirely self promoted. Despite of this, thanks for great effort made by the commitee, meals and accomodations for who's coming outside from Milan, will be entirely managed by the Milano Clown Festival.

4.  Because the first reason of the Milano Clown Festival is catch the attention of the best number of people, will be no one ticket for the shows. Artists and acting companies are invited to... place their cap and so kindly stay under the people's judgement. The organization will help the artists in this acting, so that at the end of the Festival, who will
have reached the biggest people support will win an amount of money! This prize will be built with the 10% (just the 10%!) from each show.

5.  In order to have the larger presence and catch more people possible, every show will be alternatively presented in different places and times during the 3 days. Timetable and places will be decided with the commitee.

6.  Will be 2 different prizes: "The Panel's Prize", made by professional artists from the starsystem and the "The People's Prize". The Panel's Prize gives the possibility to join the contest "I Clown della Domenica" that will be organized in Milan in the next July (watch out! all the expenses covered!). The People's prize gives an amount of money (Every single show will collect an amount of money. The 10% of this amount from each single show, will be used for creating the money prize).

8.     Selected artists will be immediately contacted by email o phone call, not later than January, 30 2008. In one week they will also receive all the logistic informations needed.

9.      Everything you'll send us will be use for promoting the event,  published on our websited, on our posters etc.

10.   The selected artists have to accept entirely these rules.

The Festival is open to all theatrical street artists and companies, be them Italian or foreign; and is particularly dedicated to new artists and those who cannot find an audience.

2.     The Festival will take place in Milan, in the Isola district, within easy reach from the city center and well served by public transports. Performances will be hosted by local Theatres or in the open, depending on organization or technical necessities.

3.     Application and participation, after material review and selection (see comma 7) are free.

4.     The organization, with considerable effort as the Festival is not financed or otherwise supported, offers participants travelling from over 400 kms b&b accomodation for 2 days.

5.     Attendance to shows is free. The company or artist is invited to offer the hat to the audience, supported by the staff so that successful events are duly rewarded.

6.     There’ll be two awards: the Jury Prize, coming from a Jury made up by (to-be-defined) professional performers and the Audience Prize. The Jury Prize winner show is granted the right to take part in the ‘Sunday Clown’ Review scheduled for may 2007 with fully covered expenses; the Audience Prize will be a cash bonus.

8.     Selected artists will be immediately notified by phone and e-mail by January 30th, 2008. All logistic and technical information will be provided by the ensuing week, including place of performance and timing schedule.

9.     Received material will be employed for promotional activities: in print, web, street adverts and other forms.

10. Selected artists implicitly accept every article in this document.
